From 35 to 60+
At the Italian Showdown, Masters also get to choose their ability division
Being the same age does not mean having the same physical capabilities and the same performance; so why should you be forced to compete against stronger athletes just because you were born in the same year? To give all Masters the chance to compete on equal terms, we have set up 6 age groups within every Individual ability division (there are no age groups for Doubles).
Beginner
- Age Group 35-39
- Age Group 40-44
- Age Group 45-49
- Age Group 50-54
- Age Group 55-59
- Age Group 60+
Intermediate
- Age Group 35-39
- Age Group 40-44
- Age Group 45-49

Rx

This way, you can compare yourself on the leaderboard against competitors in your own age group, but also globally against all the other athletes at the same ability level, just like in the CrossFit Open. What's more, during the competition you will be placed in heats ordered by date of birth, so you will always take the floor alongside your peers for a fairer and more enjoyable head-to-head.
The top 3 athletes in the overall ranking of each ability division are awarded on the podium, regardless of age. In addition, the winners of every age group across all ability divisions are named "Age Group Champion" in a collective ceremony dedicated to Masters.
How Age Groups Work
When you register, you select the division that best matches your fitness level; the system then automatically assigns you to the correct Age Group based on the date of birth in your profile (only the year counts).
For example: if you turn 52 during the competition year and you have decided that the 2nd ability level is the right one for you, you are placed both in the overall ranking of the Intermediate division, and in the specific ranking of the 50-54 Intermediate Age Group.
