Competition Format

How it Works

Open to Anyone

The 2026 Italian Showdown takes place at RiminiWellness on 29, 30, 31 May

The competition is open to enthusiasts of every level: first-time beginners, intermediate athletes and experienced competitors. Everyone can take the floor to test themselves and go head-to-head with their peers. It is much more than a competition, it is the celebration of the Community that every year since 2016 has drawn thousands of CrossFit enthusiasts to celebrate fitness and health.

  • No qualifiers: no videos to submit , just book your slot to compete live, but be quick to register because slots sell out very fast.
  • No cuts: you complete every scheduled workout from the first day to the last and give your all until the end of the competition, with no risk of being eliminated over one bad test.
  • Individuals and Pairs: you decide how to take the floor, compete individually or in a team of 2 athletes with your training partner to double the fun.

Individual

For athletes competing solo, there are 3 Individual ability divisions: Rx, Intermediate and Beginner, matching the standard CrossFit workout-of-the-day options. In addition, within each Individual ability division there are 6 Age Groups from 35 to over 60. This way, Masters athletes can also choose which division to compete in based not only on age but on their fitness level, and can compare themselves on the leaderboard both by ability division and by Age Group. For athletes of all age groups, the workouts are based on CrossFit Open standards.

Double

For athletes competing in pairs, there are 2 Double ability divisions: Intermediate and Beginner, with no age distinction. Pairs may be formed by athletes of the same or different gender (the team captain must select the M-M, M-F or F-F sub-division during registration). This way, pairs can compare themselves on the leaderboard in two ways: overall ranking by ability division or specific ranking by gender sub-division. Pair workouts are based on the I go, You go format, where one partner performs the required reps while the other rests, then the roles switch, alternating until all the prescribed work is completed.

The competition lasts 2 or 3 days depending on the ability division you choose, as shown below. The final ranking is based on 5 scores earned across all the competition workouts, and the top 3 Individuals and Doubles in each ability division are awarded on the podium.
