How the final Showdown works

Outside the overall leaderboard there will be an extra challenge for the best 5 men and 5 women, valid for the 1.000€ Jackpot and the Champion trophy

After the live elimination, which consists of the first three events on Thursday and Friday, about half of the athletes are admitted to the next phases. Events 4 and 5 of the semi-final phase take place on Saturday and, with no more cuts, events 6 and 7 of the final phase take place on Sunday.

The competition ends after seven workouts for all age divisions. The overall leaderboard is based on all the scores of all workouts, from the elimination phase to the final phase. Therefore, each workout is decisive for the chance of getting on the podium.

1st, 2nd and 3rd of each division

The overall leaderboard will close at the end of Event 7 with the top three in each age division who will get on the podium and will be awarded with the 2022 Italian Showdown medal and with cash prizes, ranging from 100 to 800 euros. But there will be more…

The best 5 men and the best 5 women of the Individual division will take to the field again to face the final challenge and take home the 1.000 euros Jackpot and the Showdown trophy.

The competition field will be divided into two: on one side the men, on the other the women. Men and women will compete simultaneously in the final Showdown but in their respective divisions: men against men and women against women.

Direct Elimination Match

The final Showdown will be a direct elimination challenge based on 4 matches of 5 minutes each, with a short break in between. It starts with scores reset to zero, so at each match all the challengers have the same chance of winning and no one will be able to strategize.

The final Showdown is a blind workout, like the “Chaos” event of the 2018 CrossFit Games, in which the athletes do not know the movements or repetitions until the event begins.

Only at 3-2-1…GO! each athlete is informed of the exercises and repetitions to be performed as they progress through each station. All athletes will only have to push hard to overcome every obstacle, known and unknown.

In the end, there will be only one

Five competitors participate in the first match; the competitor who finishes the match last will be eliminated immediately. In the event of a tie between two or more athletes, the competitor with the lowest ranking in the overall leaderboard will be eliminated.

Four competitors participate in the second match; the competitor who finishes the match last will be eliminated immediately and so on… The last competitor standing will win the 1.000 euros Jackpot and the Showdown trophy.
